Manahawkin, NJ - If you have diabetes, pre-diabetes or want to know more about diabetes come and join us at Southern Ocean Medical Center’s annual Diabetes Health Fair. The event takes place on Saturday, November 5, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Southern Ocean. There will be free health screenings, lectures and educational information.
Southern Ocean endocrinologist, Sajjad Hussain, M. D. and registered dieticians and certified diabetes educators will be on hand to share valuable information. Free health screenings will include blood pressure, total cholesterol, blood sugar, stroke risk and foot exams. There will be an “Ask the Endocrinologist” session from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and a lecture on “Understanding Carbohydrates” from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
“Our goal of this event is to help people learn more about diabetes, treatment options, and diabetes products,” says diabetes nurse educator Eddi Nitting.
